“Half Jewish Hanukkah”
Danielle suggested that she and her boyfriend Nick and Peter and I celebrate half Hanukkah. Neither Nick or I are Jewish, but Judaism is important to both Danielle’s family and Peter’s.
Dani made latkas, Peter stopped by the 2nd Ave Deli for cookies and I made the cheese plate. We were joined by our other half Jewish couple friends - Laura (Jew) and Andy (gentile).
Peter told a terribly inaccurate version of the Hanukkah story - “Wait, were the Maccabees fighting the Jews?” and we drank a lot of wine and Nick game me my first Hanukkah gift ever - a can opener.
